Adidas, in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a New York-based multidisciplinary group dedicated to raise awareness to protect the fragility of the oceans from major threats and destruction, formulated a concept that battles one of the planet’s major problems, ocean pollution. The idea is to create footwear that is made entirely of debris and waste reclaimed and recycled from the ocean waste.
Furthermore, this prototype illustrates the direction the famous German footwear brand and Parley for the Oceans are taking in terms of making a full line of consumer-ready products such as T-shirts, shorts and other apparels that are made of recycled plastic ocean garbage. These products will be available on the market later this year.
We definitely need more of these creative industries that are environment-friendly. As a consumer, how can you create change that would help protect our planet? Share with us your opinion.
