These T-shirts can be purchased for about $2.00, but what do they really wind up costing? This video from Fashion Revolution, a non profit organization, is meant to generate awareness about workers who make it possible for the rest of us to buy such cheap clothes. The sweatshop laborers endure harsh conditions and are grossly underpaid. The organization put this vending machine on the street and put cheap T-shirts inside. Then a video played.
Do you know who made your clothes? I doubt it, but it does get you thinking. We often put things like the working conditions of third world nations out of out minds when it comes to daily life. The solution is complex, but we can all do our part by asking the question, Who made my clothes?” Please share your thoughts!
