Let’s face it, when you don’t have a lot of money, or none at all like 18 year old Montrez Jefferies, anything you do get is like gold. Jefferies is homeless and has been living at the Durham Rescue Mission trying to get his life together. So when he recently found a $500 money order blowing in the wind it was time to make that step in the right direction. He reported the find to the staff at the mission and they were able to track down the owner.
For his efforts and good display of human kindness and honesty, Jeffries was rewarded with two gift cards from the owner of the money order. A few locals took notice of his actions as well and have set up a GoFundMe page for the young man in hopes of helping him achieve his goals of returning to school and living a normal life.
These are the kinds of stories that just make you feel good about humanity. Now I know the teen is homeless and in a very bad position, but his actions and words clearly show that he is ready to embark on a new life. Check out his GoFundMe Page and help him out and let us know your thoughts and comments please!
