This Artist Is Using His Talents as a Voice For Wildlife Ravished By Pollution

By Jack Day

Artur Bordalo is not just good at what he does, he’s also an inspiring human being.

In order to bring more attention to environmental problems around the globe, he decided to combine two opposing forces into giant works of street art.  By using trash, scrap metal, and various other discarded forms of waste, Bordalo began creating portraits of animals from the refuge.

The pieces themselves are wonderfully detailed and masterfully capture the essence of each creature.  The goal, however, is not just about creating art.  The deeper message stares right back at viewers in the form of sheet metal, industrial machinery, car parts, trash cans, toilets, and any other waste that is slowly destroying the very animals it is portraying.

Check out some of these amazing sculptures and see if you can spot the different pieces of trash that form each part of the animals.
