My girlfriend drives me nuts. We met through a common friend, who warned me about her craziness. Though he didn’t specify what type of crazy, I made sure that it wasn’t something serious or really mental.
I am not exaggerating here, but I loved her the first time I saw her. I guess I was so blinded by her cute angelic face that I wasn’t able to see the little devil within.
I could still recall the first real conversation we had. Since we were in the “get to know each other” stage, I thought it was right to share some things about myself like – my past relationship. I told her that I haven’t gotten over my first love.
There was silence then, she took a deep breath, shook her head and said, “You know what? I don’t have time for this crap! I have been working all day, I’m exhausted and here you are talking about your first love who I don’t even know or care about. I am not going to let you waste my time! Go look for someone else to talk to about your pathetic love story!”
Whoa! Hands up in the air! I’ve never met a girl who speaks her mind like that. But I realized she had a point and I really had a big crush on her so I apologized, made sure that I would never bring up my emo love stories again and invited her out to dinner.
After months of exclusive dating, she became my girlfriend. I was always high with her, like seriously dude, she can make me laugh real hard but she can also make me real mad at times.
I also remember when we had our first fight. It was my fault though because I kind of lied to her. It wasn’t a big deal, but she had this very unique way of making me feel really guilty. My tears were about to fall when all of a sudden she blurted, “You’re looking really cute with your puppy dog eyes. You’re forgiven.”
WTH?! Her crazy is addictive though. We had a good laugh after that argument. She bought me ice cream and made me promise not to lie to her ever again. Sometimes, I wonder who is crazier, me or her? But I guess it doesn’t really matter, right?
