The World’s First $9 Computer is Currently Making a Runway Hit

By Anne Cacherell

This 1-minute video features CHIP, the world’s first $9 computer.

The Next Thing Co., a group of smart inventors led by Dave Rauchwerk, is currently seeking crowdfunding on Kickstarter for this new, ultra-low cost microcomputer. With its built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, this tiny device lets you surf the web, check your e-mail, play games with Bluetooth controller and many other things.

In addition, it also offers PocketCHIP, a portable enclosure that turns CHIP into a smart device that comes with touchscreen and keyboard.

If everything goes according to plan, CHIP will be released on December 2015.
