Elif Bilgin, a lady from Istanbul (not Constantinople) had wondered if there was a better way to reuse some of the waste that we constantly cause in our daily lives. Upon realizing the high amount of starch content in bananas, she came up with the idea of making plastic out of banana waste. It took her two years, but eventually she actually did it.
