There are numerous articles on how to improve your online sales. But how do you know which one is telling you the truth? One article headline says “65 Ways To Improve Your Online Sales” but then another one states “The Only 3 Ways To Improve Online Sales”.
How do you know which one is right? Or maybe it’s just a process of elimination. Either way, I’m going to go through some of the ones that resonate with me and my business.
The first thing you want to do when you are looking into starting an online sales business is the hook. The headlines need to be very strong. If you have a weak headline… it may cause the reader to just bypass your stuff immediately.
Make sure to check out your Google Analytics stats. If you aren’t signed up for that yet, what are you waiting for?! If your audience stays on your sales page for a very short amount of time [anywhere between 1-15 seconds before they click away] then you may have an incredibly weak headline.
Steer Your Ship
This is another very unique way of making sure you improve your sales. Every time the customer clicks on a page, make sure it’s one page closer to your checkout page. If you keep steering your customers in a certain direction, they will eventually have to make a decision on whether to buy or not.
It’s also a smart idea to check out your page on a daily basis to make sure all of your links work properly. Nothing will hinder your business more than a couple faulty clicks. You’ll definitely lose customers this way.
Proof Is In The Pudding
Make sure to allow customers to send you testimonials that can reside on your site. Nothing is more important than word of mouth and testimonials. These testimonials have to be very powerful though. It can’t just be a vague statement. You have to have amazing testimonials to boost your credibility.
What makes a good testimonial? Testimonials are made up of 3 components.
3. “WOW” Factor
An example of a very powerful testimonial can look something like this: “Jane Doe has helped me immensely when it came to refining my sales page. Within the last 6 months, sales have skyrocketed for a $50,000 profit!”
Last but certainly not least, the last technique you can use to increase your online sales is to add a bonus item. It doesn’t need to be big, cost heavy, or anything. It just needs to reside with the customer that they are getting something extra for going through you.
It could be as simple as adding a wrapping option for free if it’s a gift for someone else. Or it could be a little extra bonus item that only a certain number of people can receive. Have you ever really paid attention to informercials?
The reason why those sell is not because the product is good. It’s because they are adding bonus materials to a product that is already needed/wanted. The customer is always happy with an extra set of ShamWOW towels instead of just one.
