While I was in the middle of writing an article the other day, my computer just froze. I wasn’t sure if it was because of the numerous tabs that I had open at the time or perhaps it was because of the TV show that I was trying to download. But whatever the cause was, I knew I had to reboot it.
And you know what? I do exactly the same thing with my life. Whenever I get fed up of my relationships, heartaches, bad memories, issues and dramas, and whenever I get tired of myself, with the way I think, how I manage things and how I commit the same mistakes over and over again, I always make sure to take a pause, get rid of my useless and negative thoughts that drag me down and delete the things that are holding me back from becoming better.
So today, I prepared a step-by-step guide to help you in rebooting yourself so that you can always know how to live a better in life.
End Unnecessary Processes
When your computer is running too many tasks all at the same time, it tends to slow down, or worse get frozen in time. Rebooting provides a quick fix to spot and remove these unnecessary background tasks.
The same thing goes with life. It is essential to get rid of those people and things that are holding you back from doing what you need to do. You have to reboot yourself in order to fix your errors and start with a clean slate.
Instead of putting up with your “unacceptable” relationship flaws such as abusive behaviors or lack of trust and respect, reject or let go of that person who doesn’t give you what you want and who doesn’t make you feel the way you want to feel.
When you choose to detach from toxic people and put an end to these harmful elements in your life, you will discover how happier and stronger you can become.
Get Clear With Yourself
It is impossible to reset yourself when your mind is focused on your work and your other obligations. So, take a step back from your daily routine. Go on a vacation as far away as you can to unplug from all the busyness of life, technology and your job. Feed your soul by doing something that you love and just relish in the moment.

No matter how hardworking and dedicated you are in doing your job, you will come to a point wherein you reach your limits and you feel burnt out. As a result, you lose your momentum, you get slow and become inefficient.

When I was working in the call center industry, I was a MANAGER type of leader. I had to plan out my day in one-hour blocks and allot time for listening to my agents’ calls, evaluation and feedback sessions and writing daily reports. In addition, I had to make sure that my schedule was flexible enough to squeeze in emergency meetings.
And now that I am working as a writer, the MANAGER-method that I was using before no longer applies. Since I need more time to accomplish a certain project, I have to use the MAKER-style of scheduling to become more productive because if I do it in one-hour chunks like how I used to, it would cut-off my workflow and destroy my focus.
Live in the Now
Another important step in rebooting your life is to let go of your belief that you are defined by your past. Holding on to old experiences and pains not only slows you down but it also limits you from seeing future possibilities and enjoying opportunities that are right in front of you.
