Google Maps Aims to See Every Part of the World

By Richard K Noots

Google Maps is generally what we use to see parts of the world that we will most likely never visit. How do they do it though? Well, it’s a bit of a variety. Sometimes they’ll use snowmobiles or other types of vehicles to traverse harsh terrain. Other times, they do it like the Old Way. Seen in this video is (what I hope to be) an employee of Google, and he (possibly) has one of the coolest jobs ever.

I give Google credit for using their endless money streams to make new and unique products and services. I am a big user of Google Maps so these developments are awesome!

Wow, that is so cool! I never put thought into how they got their footage, but this is amazing. I wonder how one goes about getting a job doing that? Or if they only use locals? I would do it in a second!

Amazing footage, it doesn’t look quite real, does it? I wonder how often they update the maps, and if they are more accurate than the directions you get from the site!
