For those old enough to remember John F. Kennedy he “effected their lives dramatically” and had a “vigor, a youth, an energy” that captured the hearts and minds of millions. He was known for his belief that we as Americans can always strive to do better and be better. It was through a vigorous physical fitness program aimed at making the country a healthier place that some of his vision played out. Using La Sierra high school in California as a “poster child” for fostering a common belief in improving and challenging one self, JFK launched his campaign for over all well being.
“This should be a matter of concern to us all. A country is as strong, really, as its citizens. And I think that mental and physical health, mental and physical vigor, go hand in hand.” -John F. Kennedy
This video is an open call to the youth of America and schools across the nation to “come on board to a program that will change America.” A challenge to the new generation to make a difference and gain an appreciation for life that so many others discovered decades ago.
