San Francisco based photographer Jono Rotman provides us a closer look at the life and the world of New Zealand’s infamous Mighty Mongrel Mob. More than just wearing gripping, extensive tattoos and an emblem of a British bulldog with a German Stahlhelm, the members of this notorious street gang are committed to a creed that they would uphold to death. The vicious Mighty Mongrel Mob started in the 1960’s with a group of mainly European youths from Wellington and Hawke’s Bay.


In the 1970s, the gang expanded and included numerous Maori people, the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand.
