If you like art that uses uncommon material to create itself, then this will be right up your ally. It always impresses me that such creative minds out there think of things like this. I mean, who would ever look at a key or a coin and see it as a medium by which to craft a work of art? Apparently this Australian artist who goes by the name of Michael, or Moerkey does and we can all appreciate that in these photos of some of his creations, as well as be inspired to create or own cool masterpieces. As far as where he got the idea and inspiration for the works he says this:
“When I was supposed to be cleaning out my shed, I came across some old copper pipe saved from a previous renovation. I cut it up into rings and started making it into spheres,” Michael explains on his Etsy shop. “The first ones were a bit rough but once I worked out the technique I got creative.”
“I’m a bit of a hoarder and searched around for all those old keys and copper wire, that were no longer needed, and got creative with them as well,” he added.
What do you think of these interesting designs? I like the football my self. Do you dabble in creating non traditional artworks? Please share your own stories and comments!
